SiteLock Workday at Larry’s Garage (Sept. 30, 2023) – Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque
Workday at Larry’s Garage (Sept. 30, 2023)

Story and Photos by Paul Duncan

Twelve Tin Lizzies participated. Dave Ferro had help from Mark D. mounting tires to his new yellow powder coated rims; John Criswell’s 1927 Touring needed a new timer and the new timer installed performed very well in Larry’s  timing laboratory. The carburetor bowl was cleaned and new gaskets were added.  We are all impressed with John’s car and look forward to seeing John on the road. Tim O’Brien’s fire truck needed adjustments to the transmission bands and afterward Larry took a test drive. Tim and Neil O’Brien brought the TT down in Tim’s recent Telephone Trailer purchase. Paul and Marilyn are planning to run their 1918 T in a Kansas parade in a few weeks and with Dave Ferro’s assistance placed support irons for the top bows. Their T is a Touring Cutoff so this is not going to be an easy stock fix.

There were multiple projects ongoing and a lot of energy and exchange among those present. Jeff Richards who has recently retired and wants to get back to working on T’s was a big help.  He has a number of T’s of his own and has  good Model T mechanical skills. We are all understanding the importance of a well manufactured timer and proper coil adjustment. Larry’s timing laboratory is a huge advance for all of our T’s attaining sharp performance.
