Breakfast at Weck’s 4th St. (Jan. 12, 2019)

Story by Paul Duncan, photos by Mark Wing

The first T n’ Vittles breakfast of 2019 was held at Weck’s on north 4th in the Village of Los Ranchos. This is the start of the Tin Lizzie’s 40th anniversary year and the original meetings were held in this same restaurant named JB’s at the time. The breakfast was organized by Paul and Marilyn Duncan.

Thirty-two Tin Lizzie’s showed up with three Model T’s. We were blessed to see long time members Julie and Russell Dilts along with Julie’s mother who is a Dallas resident. The Dilts’ previously lived in Rio Rancho (just west of Albuquerque) and now live near Sedona, AZ where Russell is a cancer center administrator. Newly elected board member Jahn Wright and his wife Barbara were there and it was nice to see Barbara out again. Previous Tin Lizzie member Kim Housholder was visiting her mother Betty Housholder from her home in the Conchas Lake area near Tucumcari, NM.

The food and service were as usual excellent. Many of the gathered left to attend the funeral services of long time Tin Lizzie and founding member Mistee Thomson.  Mistee served as the first president of the Tin Lizzies in 1979 and he will be sorely missed.
