Minutes for the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque General Meeting

Held at The Vineyard’s clubhouse on November 16, 2023. 

Call to Order:

President Mark Dominguez called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 

Pledge:

President Mark Dominguez led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Welcome:

President Mark Dominguez welcomed everyone to the meeting 19 members were present and one on Zoom (Don) quorum met.

Approval of minutes: The minutes of the October 28, 2023, meeting minutes are accepted as published. Per THE MODEL T FORD CLUB OF AMERICA- OPERATIONS MANUAL – 2020.

Officers’ reports:

Vice President Report – Vaughn Rockafellow presented raffle items:

Secretary’s Report- Jessica Lanceno correspondence to report.

Treasurer’s Report – Kirk Peterson – reported the following: balance report at the previous meeting, a list and explanation of receipts expenses and the current balance. Eight membership renewals including new Brendan Wing and family. John Wright is a life member beginning in 2024.

Committee reports.

Car Council – Steve Kranz has stepped down and we need a new representative.

E-Mail – Jessica Lance – We currently have no bounce back emails. We encourage sending announcement to the Tin Lizzie email address for club distribution for any upcoming event or general news we can use.

T n Vittles – Linda Riel – reported our breakfast at Iron Kitchen on November 11, 2023, had

8 people and one T.  This is the last breakfast for 2023.  2024 signup sheet is now available.

Meeting Refreshments – Linda Riel – reported this month is Guys with Pies. All guys are asked to bring any type of pie.  2024 signup sheet is now available.

Newsletter – Paul & Marilyn Duncan – The Duncan’s reported that the newsletter will be sent out the week after our holiday party (2nd week of December)  

Valencia High School – Paul and Dave – will visit in December

Historian – Marilyn Duncan – reported the telephone truck, Bernice’s ambulance and an article all appeared in the Vintage Ford for this month. 


Website – Sharon Dominguez – added to the website: Work party Oct 28, Durango Tour, State Fair, October meeting minutes, T ‘n Vittles at Abuelita’s Sept. 9, 2023.

Hospitality – Fran Gurule – reported she has not sent out any get well. Everyone is well.

Don M has a DVD checked out.

Quartermaster– Larry Azevedo – reported item out is a cam shaft from Jim G.

Old business

Work party – Workday at Larry’s Garage Oct. 28, 2023, Mark Wing, Mark Dominguez, Roger Burton, Frank Lewark, Philip Lance with his brother-in-law Roman and his son Roman Jr., Don Neidigk, Austin, and Paul Duncan came. Roger was restoring a vintage vice that needed a new jaw.  Mark W brought a very old and rare one-piece front spindle. Philip, Roman assisted Mark in mounting tires on new rims. Paul replaced his generator with a new alternator. 

T ‘n Vittles – November 11, 2023, T ‘n Vittles at Iron Kitchen.  Next T ‘n Vittles will be in January.  Sign-up sheets are now available.

New Business:

Marilyn brought up to the club the need to officially add the Mascot to the bylaws if being added to the official November ballot. Tim 2nd.  Discussion resulted in motion withdrawn and another motion made by Linda, moves we vote for Mascot in the regular meeting in October 2nd by Vaughn. No discussion. Vote – Motion approved by unanimous vote.

Honorary greasy thumb award to Betty H for working on her car with a potential seller.

Marilyn reported that the MTFCA had announced they have extended the offer of one free annual membership to each chapter in good standing. This has now changed. The requirement that membership is offered as a way to grow the chapters and used to recruit new members in the chapter and free memberships may not be given to current members.

Motion by Marilyn: “I move that the current Standing Rule 8 be revised to read as follow: When a free MTFCA membership is available to the chapter, it will be awarded according to their guidelines.”  2nd by Paul. Discussion. Vote – motion approved by unanimous vote.

President Mark Dominguez awarded the 2023 President’s Award to Mark Wing for all his hard work especially with our zoom meetings. 

Kirk received photos from Andy at the Durango Tour.  Thank you, Andy.

Upcoming Events:

  • • Possibly in December of 2023, Work Party – Larry Azevedo 
  • • Sandia Prep had invited the club to show T’s to the students, but the instructor is down with covid. 
  • • November 18th – 5th annual NM Veterans Memorial Show and Shine car show at the Veterans Memorial Park, Color Guard and singing of the National Anthem. 42 awards, 
  • • Dec 2nd, Twinkle Light Parade and Christmas Party in Corrales at Azevedo’s with the Installation of officers with holiday party. 
  • • December 2, 2023, Corrales Christmas parade, at The Azevedo’s at 4 p.m. leave at 5 p.m. for staging at Wagner Farm.
  • • Vaughn asked club members to donate money to a food bank, he will personally donate $300.  Joe also stated his pantry is in need of food and monetary donations.
  • • December 3rd – 5th, 2023, 1915 American LaFrance/Ford Model T Type A chemical fire engine that was owned by the City of Las0624 Cruces.
