Minutes for the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque General Meeting

Held at The Vineyard’s clubhouse on June 22, 2023


Call to Order:

President Mark Dominguez called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. 

Pledge:

President Mark Dominguez led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Welcome:

President Mark Dominguez welcomed everyone to the meeting.  14 Members were present and four on Zoom (Cameron, Kirk, Tim, Larry) quorum met. New members, Mike and Janet Crosby introduced themselves.

Program – none

Approval of minutes: The minutes of the May 25, 2023, meeting minutes are approved as published. Per THE MODEL T FORD CLUB OF AMERICA – OPERATIONS MANUAL – 2020.

Officers’ reports:

Vice President Report– Vaughn Rockafellow presented this month’s raffle items.

Raffle items were:

  1. Due to low attendance, raffle will be postponed
  2. Free table available

Secretary’s Report- Jessica Lance  No correspondence to report.

Treasure’s Report– Kirk Peterson via zoom,  reported the following: balance report at the previous meeting, a list and explanation of receipts/expenses and the current balance. Lee Chase has become a life member.

Committee reports.

Car Council- Steve Kranz not present. Next NMCCC meeting is the following week.

Telephone – Linda Riel, not present – per email, reported we have three members receiving reminder phone calls. If you want to be added let her know 

E-Mail Jessica Lance: MTFCA emails are being sent out, we currently have no bounce back emails. We encourage sending announcement to the tin lizzie email address for club distribution for any upcoming event or general news we can use.

T n Vittles- Linda Riel, not present – per email, reported we had breakfast June 3rd at the Vineyard. July’s T ’n Vittles will be at the Owl Cafe. Openings in August, September, November.
Meeting Refreshments– Linda Riel reported per email, one opening in October.

Newsletter- Paul & Marilyn Duncan. The Duncan’s not present, they reported via email  the newsletter is posted and the next newsletter will be sent out in August.


Website- Sharon Dominguez, requested members to please send photos of your car. Send in your article for the website. Host of a T n Vittles, please send the event story and pictures. Listed all items on the website: newsletter, April  & June Tn Vittles, posted minutes from May, & Corrales Tractor show. The website calendar section is not functioning.

Hospitality- Fran Gurule not present to report

Librarian– Mark Dominguez  Let me know if you need any materials via text, phone, or email.

Quartermaster– Larry Azevedo not present to report.

Historian- Marilyn Duncan, not present to report.

Old business

T n Vittles– On June 3rd, T ‘n Vittles was hosted by Betty Householder at The Vineyard clubhouse. Dominguez’s 1925 Tudor and Duncan’s 1927 Roadster Pick-up along with Vern Willan in his Model A speedster. $5 pancake breakfast was great fun and the residents loved the car rides.

Corrales Tractor and Car Show June 3, 2023, Azevedo’s 1923 Plummers Truck and Dominguez’s 1925 Tudor & Paul Beck was there with his stationary engine.

Homecoming at the Model T Museum, May 31-June 3, our Telephone truck was in a building in the very back of the museum.

Work party Please visit the website to see the progress on various Tin Lizzie vehicles. Currently the garage has been busy with the Montana 500 vehicles.

Montana 500, 1st day was uneventful with Larry placing 2nd for the day.

2nd day Dave had an accident and laid his 24 touring in a ditch. Dave suffered a broken rib and was sore. 

3rd day Larry A won the event by 13 seconds and Kirk P came in 11th and Dave 16th place.

MTFCA 2023 National Tour Manhattan, Kansas, June 18-23, no attendance from the tin lizzies.

New Business:

Upcoming Events:

  • • June 24th Happy Days car parade at the Vineyard 
  • • 4th of July Parade- Lorna & Larry, starts at 10, 9am depart to leave for the staging area.

Potluck to follow.

  • July 8, Owl Café, hosted by Mark + Susan Wing time is at 8:30 am.  After breakfast we are driving to Tinkertown in Cedar Crest, $6 for adults
  • Telephone truck trailer. Mark stated that he would like to have the trailer sold at

the July meeting . Vaughan moves “Trailer will be for sale at the July meeting and

will be a silent auction. Note we will not have a title for it but will have a bill of sale.

The stipulation is The Trailer will be sold as is where is with the club, the officers

and club members , having no responsibility after the sale. sale is final. If you want

to buy it you will need to be at the meeting or have someone bid for you. Starting

bid is $2,500.00 Then $25.00 increments. The bidding ends at the end of the July

meeting. Winning bid must make payment and take possession 10 days.”

Sharon 2nd and discussion began.

Vaughan amended motion to, moves “ the trailer will be sold at the July meeting in a live

auction. No title available and will be sold with a bill of sale. The trailer will be sold as is

and where is & the officers, Club and club members will have no responsibility after

the sale. License Plate will be removed. Sale is final. Starting bid is $2500 and will

increase by $25 increments. Winning bid must make payment and possession within 10

days. Must be a Tin Lizzie member, be present or have a club member as a proxy

for bidding.”

Sharon 2nd and discussion began. Vote on Motion passed.

  • Edgewood Rich Ford Car Show August 19, 2023
  • Sept 10th State Fair. More information to come. 
  • Fall Tour  Sept 20th -24  Durango coordinators: Dominguez, Peterson, with advisement from Andy Andrews, Spring Hill Suites offered $179 for a king suite, per night.

Email will be sent out after the meeting regarding booking a room. The closing banquet will be held at The Bar D Chuckwagon Supper Show Durango $43 per person.

For sale or trade parts off a1927 touring, hood and fenders, headlight, steering column
