Minutes for the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque General Meeting

Held at The Vineyard’s clubhouse on July 27, 2023

Call to Order:

President Mark Dominguez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. 

Pledge:

President Mark Dominguez led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Welcome:

President Mark Dominguez welcomed everyone to the meeting 29 members were present and one on Zoom (Cameron) quorum met.  The guest tonight was Happy Days Parade organizer, Joe Mascarenas.

Program: Enclosed trailer auction??Approval of minutes: The minutes of the June 22, 2023, meeting minutes are approved as published. Per THE MODEL T FORD CLUB OF AMERICA- OPERATIONS MANUAL – 2020.

Officers’ reports:??Vice President Report– Vaughn Rockafellow presented this month’s raffle items.

Raffle items were:

1.            Model t suspenders, decal

2.            Model t club logo, decal

3.            Picnic basket

4.            Car wash rag

5.            Tire polish, patch from model t centennial

Secretary’s Report- Jessica Lance – No correspondence to report.

Treasure’s Report– Kirk Peterson, reported the following: balance report at the previous meeting, a list and explanation of receipts/expenses and the current balance. 

Committee reports.

Car Council- Steve Kranz reported that it was election night and new president Elizabeth.

Big event with Pontiac and Chrysler.   More info is in the newsletter. All car club picnic will be on August 13th.  September 24th, The Enchanted trails, car show and food trucks.?

E-Mail Jessica Lance: NMCCC emails are being sent out, we currently have no bounce back emails. We encourage sending announcement to the tin lizzie email address for club distribution for any upcoming event or general news we can use.?

Telephone – Linda Riel, – reported we have three members receiving reminder phone calls. If you want to be added let her know.

T n Vittles- Linda Riel, August 12, El Patron 9 am.  July’s T ’n Vittles was held at the Owl Cafe. Openings in September, November.?

Meeting Refreshments– Linda Riel reported that the Wings will be serving refreshments. Next month we will have a club Ice Cream Social.

Newsletter- Paul & Marilyn Duncan. The Duncan’s reported that the newsletter was sent out in late July. Write up on Larry’s win at the Montana 500.  Check out the latest issue for more info.  Next issue will be sent out after the Durango Tour.

Valencia High School– Paul has spoken to Anthony about steering on the project car.

Website- Sharon Dominguez, requested members to please send photos of your car. Send in your article for the website. The website calendar section is now functioning. Updates include the; work party on the 15th, July 8th– T ’n Vittles at owl café and Tinkertown, Happy Days car show on the June 24th.  If anyone has photos of the 4th of July parade, please send them to Sharon. Check out upcoming events for all the latest events for the club.  Email all articles for the website directly to Sharon.?

Hospitality- Fran Gurule reported she did not send cards out.           ?

Librarian– Mark Dominguez – Let me know if you need any materials via text, phone, or email.??

Quartermaster– Larry Azevedo reported items out are a front timing gear and cam shaft, both items are still on backorder. ??

Historian- Marilyn Duncan, reported she received materials on telephone truck and will be adding to the binder of information. 

Meeting Refreshments provided by our mid-meeting snack is provided by Suan and Mark Wing.

Old business?

Happy Days car parade at the Vineyard on June 24th had 47 total cars attended. Coffee and donuts and water were available. Batmobile and Scooby Doo vehicles were present along with 2 Tin Lizzies (Dominguez and Wing)

Montana 500- Larry reported that his article is in the newsletter regarding his journey. Larry spoke about Kirk and Dave journey.

T n Vittles– On July 3rd, T ‘n Vittles was hosted by Susan and Mark Wing. 17 attendees and 5 Model t’s (Wing, Mitchell, Domingue, Duncan and Azevedo.)

Homecoming at the Model T Museum, May 31-June 3, our Telephone truck was in a building in the very back of the museum.

Work party Please visit the website to see the progress on various Tin Lizzie vehicles. 

July 15th work party was dedicated for John C and repair of his vehicle, and it did not make it to the garage.

MTFCA 2023 National Tour Manhattan, Kansas, June 18-23, no attendance from the tin lizzies.

July 4th Parade- Lorena reported her car was decorated as a flower.  The folks came out for the parade in droves. Fran and Lorena come up with a theme and decorate the vehicle. The picnic followed the parade.  Many lovely potluck items were consumed.

Program: Live Auction.

Rules were explained and a waiver will be signed. Mark has original receipts for the trailer. It was purchased on 8/30/1999 by the Telephone Pioneers. Will include a Bill of Sale and no Title.

The opening bid of $ 2,500 was met and started to increase with a winning bid of $4,325 by Tim O’Brien.

New Business:

Upcoming Events:

  • T n Vittles on August 9th at El Patron – 9 a.m.
  • Edgewood Rich Ford Car Show August 19, 2023. Meet at Sprouts on Tramway and Central Ave at 8 a.m.
  • Sept 10th State Fair. More information to come. 
  • September 16th 8 a.m. -12 p.m.  Solo Club is hosting a yard sale along with breakfast. All are welcome.
  • Fall Tour  Sept 20th -24  Durango coordinators: Dominguez, Peterson, with advisement from Andy Andrews, Spring Hill Suites offered $179 for a king suite, per night. The closing banquet will be held at The Bar D Chuckwagon Supper Show. The tour fee is $45 per person. Next meeting Sharon will need forms filled out and deposit paid.
  • Dec 2nd, Twinkle Light Parade and Christmas Party in Corrales at Azevedo’s.

Announcements:

  • Next month refreshments: Club’s Ice Cream Social
  • August TnVittles will be hosted by Sharron & Rita Loy at El Patron

The raffle brought in $38. Winners were- Sharron won the tire cleaner & wash rag, Don, Model T club logo & decal, Sharron won the suspenders, Neil won the picnic basket.

For sale or trade parts off a 1917 touring, hood and fenders, headlight, steering column by James Davey. 

Next Tin Lizzie Meeting August 24th at 6:30 p.m.
