Minutes for the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque General Meeting

Held at The Vineyard’s clubhouse on August  24, 2023


Call to Order:

President Mark Dominguez called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. 

Pledge:

President Mark Dominguez led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Welcome:

President Mark Dominguez welcomed everyone to the meeting 27 members were present and one on Zoom (Cameron) quorum met. The guests tonight were Dan & Bllie Pyzel from Poco Quartos( Sandia Great Gatsby participants).


Approval of minutes: The minutes of the July 27, 2023, meeting minutes are approved as published. Per THE MODEL T FORD CLUB OF AMERICA- OPERATIONS MANUAL – 2020.

Officers’ reports:

Vice President Report– Vaughn Rockafellow presented this month’s raffle items.

Raffle items were:

  1. Model t tote bag, cleaning spray and cloths
  2. Model t tote bag, toy truck, 
  3. Model t tote bag, suspenders
  4. Model t tote bag, red ladies hat

Secretary’s Report- Jessica Lance  No correspondence to report.

Treasure’s Report– Kirk Peterson, reported the following: balance report at the previous meeting, a list and explanation of receipts/expenses and the current balance. 

Committee reports.

Car Council- Steve Kranz reported a new president, Elizabeth. All car club picnic will be on September 24th, The Enchanted Trails, Central Ave NW car show and food trucks.

E-Mail Jessica Lance: NMCCC emails are being sent out, we currently have no bounce back emails. We encourage sending announcement to the tin lizzie email address for club distribution for any upcoming event or general news we can use.

Telephone – Linda Riel, –  reported we have three members receiving reminder phone calls. If you want to be added let her know .

Meeting Refreshments– Linda Riel reported that the Azevedo’s and Fran will provide refreshments in September

Newsletter- Paul & Marilyn Duncan. The Duncan’s reported  that the newsletter will be sent out after the Durango Tour.

Valencia High School– Paul has spoken to Anthony about steering on the project car. Kids are now painting the school colors, black and red. Benefit will be teaching the kids how to drive a standard vehicle


Website- Sharon Dominguez, reported the website calendar section is now functioning. Updates include the work party on July 22nd and the Rich Ford Event on August 19th. She is requesting members to please send photos of your car. Send in your articles to the website. Check out upcoming events for all the latest events for the club. Hospitality- Fran Gurule reported she did not send cards out.

Librarian– Mark Dominguez  Let me know if you need any materials via text, phone, or email.

Don M has a DVD checked out.

Quartermaster– Larry Azevedo reported items out are a front timing gear and cam shaft, both items are still on backorder.

Historian- Marilyn Duncan reported she reached out to the intern at MTFCA regarding the telephone truck and will be submitting an article for the MTFCA magazine. 

Meeting Refreshments  provided by our mid-meeting snack is provided by the clubs annual ice cream social.


Old business

Telephone trailer sold to Tim O.

T n Vittles– August  T ‘n Vittles was hosted by Rita Loy and Sharron. 17 attendees and 4 Model T’s.


Rich Ford Edgewood – $500donation was made and we had 8 model t cars and 13 members.

Work party Please visit the website to see the progress on various Tin Lizzie vehicles. 

August 26th . Will be removing Andy’s engine and fixing the transmission issue. The workday on September 9th will be to help John Criswell repair his 1927.

Power Ford on the 4th of September Labor Day 9-1 p.m. On Monday Labor Day. They will be giving us a donation. Set up around 8 am.

New Business:

Upcoming Events:

  • T n Vittles on September 9th – 9 a.m. Abuelitas Café on Isleta Blvd.
  • Edgewood Rich Ford Car Show August 19, 2023. Meet at Sprouts on Tramway and Central Ave at 8 a.m.
  • Sept 10th on Sunday State Fair. Meet up at our same lot on Lin. Please parked accordingly to prevent being blocked by the overflow of cars. Arrive at 7:45 am and we will proceed out at 3 p.m.
  • September 16th 8 a.m. -12 p.m. Solo Club is hosting a yard sale along with breakfast. All are welcome.
  • Fall Tour  Sept 20th -24  Durango coordinators: Dominguez, Peterson, with advisement from Andy Andrews, Spring Hill Suites offered $179 for a king suite, per night.

The closing banquet will be held at The Bar D Chuckwagon Supper Show. The tour fee is $45 per person. Sharon will need forms filled out and deposit paid tonight. We have 21 people and 9 cars attending.

  • Oct 8th 1-4 p.m. in Moriarty, Tea Party. Rita will be selling tickets. She will send an email with more details.
  • November Elections-  We are looking to fill all offices. Think about running, call Vaughn if interested. 
  • Dec 2nd, Twinkle Light Parade and Christmas Party in Corrales at Azevedo’s.

Inventory

  • Motion made by Vern to purchase $1,000 for parts for the inventory. 2nd by Larry A.

Motion passed, unanimous. 

Announcements:

  • Next month refreshments: Fran and Azevedo’s.

Program: 

Larry A presented a talk on stabilizer to help the gas stay stable. Larry also spoke about the tear down and inspection of the cars on the Montana 500. 

The raffle brought in $35. Winners were-

For sale or trade:

  • 2 unrestored TT’s being given away. See Steve Krantz.
  • James Davey is selling parts for $200. 1917 touring hood and fenders, headlight, and steering column.
  • Betty H has her 1921 Doctors Coupe for Sale, $8500. New upholstery on the doors. 

Next Tin Lizzie Meeting September 28th  at 6:30 p.m.
