Story and Photos by Paul and Marilyn Duncan
Today was a cold day and three Model T’s were worked on. Two were brought inside the garage. The Valencia High School T was worked on recently on Thursday April 17. It was noted that the left rear wheel split rim had only three lugs. No one had the same type lug so Mark Wing donated a split rim with four lugs from his inventory and it was installed. Angel Peña drove his 1924 Coupe which he had been driving to work for the past week and wanted to readjust the coils and carburetor. Once finished his T was moved from the canopy outside Larry’s garage door and the students T was moved out and Tim O’Brien’s TT firetruck moved into the shop. The alternator was not charging and it was removed and a plate placed over the opening to the cam shaft. Tim changed the oil. Tim brought the firetruck on his trailer and will take the alternator for repair or buy a new one. Mark Wing brought a number of original 1909, 1910 and 1911 connecting rods that had been re-babbitted to weigh them individually.
The following Tin Lizzies attended: Larry Azevedo; Tim O’Brien; Mark Wing; Jeff Richards; Paul and Marilyn Duncan; Angel and Lucien Peña; Frank Lewark; Dave Ferro; Roger Burton; Austin Pisani dropped by to pay his dues and paid for three years; Tin Lizzy dog mascot-Kensie Ferro. Austin, we learned has moved out to Los Lunas in the Valencia High School area. He is still gathering parts for his 1927 Roadster project.
