Larry and Lorna’s grandson, Cole Wedekind, was in town from Missouri and his visits are an opportunity to make more progress on his 1927 super touring car project.  The overhead valve Frontenac engine is at the stage where the main bearings had been cast and excess babbitt had to be filed away prior to line boring.  Bob Hawk was assisting Cole with his suspension system.

Bruce Daniel was cleaning and painting his hogs head.  His engine is nearing final assembly and should be running soon.

Michael Housholder had ordered a carburetor rebuilding kit for his 1924 pickup truck.  This kit comes with all the parts needed to make the carburetor like new, including a new bowl, but he did start with a Holley NH carburetor casting in good condition.

Mark was working on boring the fourth and last rod for his 1925 touring car restoration project.  Under Larry’s instruction and watchful eye, this last rod was bored to exactly 1.25-inches I.D. and 1.48-inches in width.  The rods still need hand finishing with a babbitt scraper and checked with Plastigage for correct clearance with the balanced SCAT crank at the next work party.

Kirk brought along a tire in need cleaning, repair, and mounting for his 1924 Model T coupe “Buster”.  Kirk had recently won a spare tire carrier on Ebay and it’s also destined to be mounted on Buster when it arrives.
